Max Holloway vs. Brian Ortega for the UFC featherweight championship is official for UFC 231 on December 8 in Toronto, Canada.

Holloway and Ortega were originally scheduled to fight at UFC 226 in July but Holloway was forced to withdraw from the bout after being hospitalized due to concussion-like symptoms just three days before the event.

Holloway (19-3) is currently riding a 12-fight win streak and is coming off of back-to-back third-round TKO victories over former champion José Aldo. “Blessed” holds notable wins over the likes of Aldo, Cub Swanson, Charles Oliveira, Jeremy Stephens, Ricardo Lamas, and Anthony Pettis since joining the UFC back in 2012.

Ortega (14-0-1NC) is undefeated in his professional MMA career, most recently defeating former UFC lightweight champion Frankie Edgar via first-round KO at UFC 222 in March. “T-City” holds notable octagon victories over Edgar, Clay Guida, Renato Moicano, and Cub Swanson.
