Daniel Cormier vs. Derrick Lewis Set as New UFC 230 Main Event
UFC 230 now has a new main event, as Daniel Cormier will defend his UFC heavyweight championship against Derrick Lewis at Madison Square Garden on November 3.
The previously announced main event between Valentina Shevchenko and Sijara Eubanks has been canceled and Shevchenko will move back to UFC 231 to fight Joanna Jedrzejczyk for the vacant flyweight title.
Cormier (21-1-1NC) is coming off of a first-round knockout victory over Stipe Miocic for the UFC heavyweight title at UFC 226 in July. DC is currently a dual weight champion, as he simultaneously holds the UFC heavyweight and light heavyweight belts.
Lewis (21-5-1NC) is coming off of a third-round knockout win over Alexander Volkov at UFC 229 this past Saturday. “The Black Beast” is currently riding a three-fight win streak and holds a 12-3 record since joining the UFC in 2014.
