TJ Dillashaw vs. Henry Cejudo for Flyweight Title Targeted for UFC 233
UFC bantamweight champion TJ Dillashaw vs. UFC flyweight champion Henry Cejudo is targeted for UFC 233 on January 26. Dillashaw is expected to drop down to challenge Cejudo for the flyweight title.
Dillashaw (16-3) is coming off of back-to-back TKO victories over former champion Cody Garbrandt, most recently defeating Garbrandt in their rematch at UFC 227 in August. “The Snake” is currently riding a four-fight win streak and holds an Octagon record of 12-3 with wins over notable names such as Garbrandt, Renan Barão (x2), and Raphael Assunção.
Cejudo (13-2) is coming off of a flyweight championship win via split decision over longtime titleholder Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Johnson at UFC 227. An Olympic gold medalist in freestyle wrestling, “The Messenger” is currently riding a three-fight win streak with an Octagon record of 7-2. He holds notable victories over the likes of Johnson, Jussier Formiga, and Sergio Pettis.
