Former WEC and UFC bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz will return to the Octagon for the first time in over two years to battle John Lineker at UFC 233.

Cruz (22-2) is coming off of a unanimous decision bantamweight title loss to Cody Garbrandt at UFC 207 in December of 2016. Prior to his loss against Garbrandt, Cruz had put together an impressive 13-fight win streak that included notable victories over Ian McCall, Joseph Benavidez (x2), Urijah Faber (x2), Demetrious Johnson, and current bantamweight champion T.J. Dillashaw.

Lineker (31-8) is coming off of back-to-back wins over Marlon Vera and Brian Kelleher, most recently defeating Kelleher via third-round KO at UFC 224 in May. “Hands of Stone” holds an Octagon record of 13-3 since joining the UFC in 2012.
