'Cowboy' Cerrone vs. Alexander Hernandez Added to UFC Brooklyn
Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone will return to the lightweight division to fight Alexander “The Great” Hernandez at UFC on ESPN+ 1 on January 19.
Cerrone (34-11-1NC) is coming off of a first-round submission victory over Mike Perry last month. “Cowboy” holds the UFC records for most wins (21) and most finishes (15) in the history of the promotion. He has defeated the likes of Perry, Jeremy Stephens, Edson Barboza, Eddie Alvarez, Benson Henderson, Alex Oliveira, Patrick Côté, and Matt Brown, among many others throughout his Octagon career.
Hernandez (10-1) is currently riding an eight-fight win streak, most recently defeating Olivier Aubin-Mercier via unanimous decision in July. “The Great” holds an Octagon record of 2-0 with the win over OAM as well as a first-round KO over Beneil Dariush in March.
The bout between Cerrone and Hernandez is expected to headline the “flagship” ESPN portion of the show which will lead into the main card on ESPN+.
