Luke Rockhold vs. Chris Weidman 2 Set for UFC 230
A pivotal rematch in the UFC middleweight division is set to take place, as former champions Luke Rockhold and Chris Weidman will do battle for the second time at UFC 230. The bout will take place on November 3 at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
Rockhold (16-4) defeated Weidman for the UFC middleweight championship in their first meeting back at UFC 194 in December of 2015. The fight was ended via fourth-round TKO and both fighters received Fight of the Night honors. Since then, Rockhold has gone 1-2 and is most recently coming off of a third-round KO loss to Yoel Romero at UFC 221 in February.
Weidman (14-3) is coming off of a third-round submission victory over Kelvin Gastelum in July of last year. Prior to his win over Gastelum, Weidman hit a three-fight losing skid that saw him defeated by Luke Rockhold, Yoel Romero, and Gegard Mousasi. Weidman will be competing in his home state of New York when he squares off against Rockhold for the second time.
