Former UFC light heavyweight champion Lyoto “The Dragon” Machida will make his Bellator debut against former Bellator middleweight champion Rafael Carvalho on December 15. The event will take place from the Neal S. Blaisdell Center in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Machida (24-8) is coming off of back-to-back wins over Eryk Anders and Vitor Belfort, most recently defeating Belfort via second-round knockout at UFC 224 in May. “The Dragon” signed with Bellator shortly after in June. He holds notable victories over BJ Penn, Tito Ortiz, Rashad Evans, "Shogun" Rua, Randy Couture, Ryan Bader, Dan Henderson, Gegard Mousasi and many others.

Carvalho (15-2) was riding a 15-fight win streak before recently being defeated by Gegard Mousasi for the Bellator middleweight championship via TKO at Bellator 200 in May. He holds notable victories over high-level strikers Joe Schilling and Melvin Manhoef (twice).
