A lightweight showdown between Edson Barboza and Dan Hooker is official for UFC Milwaukee on December 16.

Barboza (19-6) is coming off of back-to-back losses for the first time in his career, most recently suffering a fifth-round TKO defeat to Kevin Lee via doctor stoppage in April. Prior to the loss against Lee, Barboza was on the losing end of a one-sided unanimous decision to current UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov. Barboza holds an octagon record of 13-6 since joining the UFC back in 2010.

Hooker (17-7) is currently riding a four-fight win streak that includes stoppage victories over Ross Pearson, Marc Diakiese, Jim Miller, and Gilbert Burns. "Hangman" most recently defeated Burns via KO in the first round at UFC 226 in July. He has remained undefeated since making the move from the featherweight division to the lightweight division in June of last year.
