NAC Suspends Khabib Nurmagomedov and Conor McGregor
The Nevada Athletic Commission (NAC) has handed down suspensions for both UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov as well as MMA superstar Conor McGregor due to their post-fight brawl at UFC 229 in October.
Nurmagomedov (27-0) received a nine-month suspension along with a $500,000 fine. The suspension is retroactive to October 6, which means that “The Eagle” will be eligible to return to the Octagon on July 6. The NAC also offered to reduce Nurmagomedov’s suspension to as little as six months if he participates in a local anti-bullying PSA.
McGregor (21-4) was given a retroactive six-month suspension as well as a $50,000 fine. “The Notorious” will be eligible to return to the Octagon as early as April 6.
