Israel Adesanya dropped Robert Whittaker with a left hook and followed with some strikes on the ground to become the undisputed UFC middleweight champion in the UFC 243 main event. After his victory, Adesanya made it clear that he wants his first title defense to be against Paulo Costa.

In the co-main event, Dan Hooker put on a stellar performance by defeating Al Iaquinta via unanimous decision. After his win, Hooker called out Dustin Poirier for a fight.
