Jon Jones will defend his light heavyweight championship against Thiago Santos in the UFC 239 main event on July 6.

Jones (24-1-1NC) is coming off of back-to-back wins over Alexander Gustafsson and Anthony Smith, most recently defeating Smith via unanimous decision at UFC 235 earlier this month. “Bones” holds one of the most stellar resumes in MMA history which includes victories over the likes of Gustafsson (x2), Ryan Bader, "Shogun" Rua, "Rampage" Jackson, Lyoto Machida, Rashad Evans, Vitor Belfort, Chael Sonnen, Daniel Cormier, and many others.

Santos (21-6) is currently riding a four-fight win streak, most recently defeating Jan Blachowicz by third-round TKO last month. “Marreta” is undefeated since moving up to the light heavyweight division, earning stoppage victories over Blachowicz, Jimi Manuwa, and Eryk Anders.

Amanda Nunes will also put her bantamweight championship on the line against Holly Holm in the co-main event.

Nunes (17-4) is riding an eight-fight win streak, most recently becoming a dual-weight champion by knocking out Cris Cyborg for the featherweight gold at UFC 232 last December. “The Lioness” has defeated the likes of Cyborg, Germaine de Randamie, Valentina Shevchenko (x2), Miesha Tate, Ronda Rousey, and Raquel Pennington.

Holm (12-4) is coming off of a unanimous decision win over Megan Anderson at UFC 225 in June of last year. A former bantamweight champion, “The Preacher’s Daughter” is most well-known for being the first fighter defeat Ronda Rousey inside of the Octagon. She holds victories over Rousey, Anderson, Raquel Pennington, Marion Reneau, and Bethe Correia since joining the UFC in 2015.
