Former UFC bantamweight champion TJ Dillashaw has been served a 2-year suspension by the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) after testing positive for recombinant human erythropoietin (EPO). Dillashaw did not contest the punishment.

UFC vice president of athlete health and performance, Jeff Novitzky made the following statement regarding EPO as a PED: "On a scale of seriousness in anti-doping, it's up near the top."

Dillashaw’s suspension is retroactive to January 18, 2019 which means that he’ll be eligible to compete again in January of 2021. He voluntarily relinquished his bantamweight championship last month.
