Sterling vs. Munhoz and Rivera vs. Yan Targeted for UFC 238

Two pivotal bantamweight matchups — Aljamain Sterling vs. Pedro Munhoz and Jimmie Rivera vs. Petr Yan — are in the works for UFC 238 on June 8.

Sterling (17-3) is riding a three-fight win streak, most recently defeating Jimmie Rivera by unanimous decision in February. “Funk Master” holds notable Octagon victories over Rivera, Renan Barao, Brett Johns, and Cody Stamann. He currently sits at #3 on the official UFC bantamweight fighter rankings.

Munhoz (18-3-1NC) is also riding a three-fight win streak, most recently knocking out former champion Cody Garbrandt in the first round at UFC 235 in March. He’s earned notable wins over the likes of Garbrandt, Rob Font, Brett Johns, and Bryan Caraway. Munhoz currently sits at #4 on the official UFC bantamweight fighter rankings.

Rivera (22-3) is coming off of a unanimous decision loss to Sterling in February. He holds Octagon victories over the likes of Munhoz, Urijah Faber, Thomas Almeida, and John Dodson. Rivera currently sits at #7 on the official UFC bantamweight fighter rankings.

Yan (12-1) is riding a seven-fight win streak, most recently defeating John Dodson by unanimous decision in February. “No Mercy” has a perfect record of 4-0 inside of the Octagon. He currently sits at #9 on the official UFC bantamweight fighter rankings.
