Brock Lesnar Retired, Cormier vs. Miocic 2 Targeted for August
Former UFC and WWE champion Brock Lesnar will not be returning to the Octagon. Dana White told ESPN: “He told me he’s done. He’s retired.”
Lesnar was expected to challenge Daniel Cormier for the heavyweight title, but those plans have changed. The promotion is now working to put together a rematch between Cormier and former champ Stipe Miocic for the belt this August.
Lesnar last competed in mixed martial arts back at UFC 200 in July of 2016. He initially defeated Mark Hunt by unanimous decision, but the result was later overturned to a no-contest after he failed two drug tests for the banned substance clomiphene. He recently departed from the WWE and has been active in the USADA testing pool, with many assuming he was heading back to the UFC.
