Daniel Cormier will rematch former champion Stipe Miocic for the UFC heavyweight title in the main event of UFC 241. The bout was announced during the UFC Ottawa broadcast.

Cormier (22-1-1NC) defeated Miocic to win the heavyweight strap by first-round KO at UFC 226. He was expected to fight former UFC and WWE champion Brock Lesnar, but it was recently announced that Lesnar would not be returning to the Octagon. DC is coming off of a second-round submission victory over Derrick Lewis at UFC 230 last November.

Miocic (18-3) has not competed since dropping the belt to Cormier last July. Prior to that loss, Miocic was riding a six-fight win streak that included successfully defending the heavyweight title three times, which is a UFC record.

UFC 241 will take place at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California on August 17.
