Chris Weidman vs. Dominick Reyes Targeted to Main Event UFC Boston
A light heavyweight showdown between Chris Weidman and Dominick Reyes is in the works to headline UFC Boston on October 18. It will be Weidman’s debut at 205 lbs.
Weidman (14-4) is coming off of a third round knockout loss to Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza at UFC 230 last November. The former middleweight champion holds notable Octagon wins over the likes of Demian Maia, Anderson Silva (x2), Lyoto Machida, Vitor Belfort, and Kelvin Gastelum.
Reyes (11-0) is coming off of a split decision victory over Volkan Oezdemir in March. “The Devastator” has defeated Oezdemir, Ovince Saint Preux, and Jared Cannonier in his last three Octagon appearances. He is unbeaten as a professional mixed marital artists and holds a 5-0 record since joining the UFC in 2017.
