Kamaru Usman is set to defend his welterweight championship against Colby Covington at UFC 245 on December 14. The matchup was reported by ESPN’s Ariel Helwani.

Usman (15-1) is riding a 14-fight win streak, most recently defeating Tyron Woodley by unanimous decision to become welterweight king at UFC 235 in March. “The Nigerian Nightmare” is undefeated since joining the UFC and holds notable Octagon victories over Woodley, Leon Edwards, Demian Maia, and former lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos.

Covington (15-1) is currently riding a 7-fight win streak, most recently defeating former welterweight champ Robbie Lawler via unanimous decision last month. He has earned victories over the likes of Lawler, RDA, Demian Maia, and Dong Hyun Kim.

UFC 245 will now host three title fights, as Max Holloway vs. Alexander Volkanovski for the featherweight title and Amanda Nunes vs. Germaine de Randamie for the women’s bantamweight belt have already been announced.
